Slideshow zones: multiple slideshows on every monitor

A slideshow zone in Endless Slideshow Screensaver is a part of a screen that transitions from one photo to another on its own. By default, Endless Slideshow Screensaver creates one slideshow zone for every monitor you have connected to your PC or laptop, but you can have up to 20 slideshow zones on every monitor and have full control over the way those slideshow zones work together: will they all transition at the same time or one after another and in what order. Slideshow zones are one of the two ways to display multiple photos on every monitor. The other one is to configure the screensaver to display multiple photos inside every slideshow zone. Plus, you can combine those two methods: you can have several slideshow zones on every monitor and every slideshow zone can display multiple files. You may end up with a lot of photos on every monitor, so be careful.

Main slideshow zone settings are located in the [ Slideshow zones ] section of the [ Slideshow ] tab of the screensaver settings:

You can set the number of slideshow zones using the [ Split this monitor into ] drop-down list and then set the way those slideshow zones are positioned on every monitor using the [ Arrange zones into ] drop-down list. The number of the slideshow zones is constant throughout the entire slideshow and they are always positioned in a grid with the number of rows and columns that you select in the [ Arrange zones into ] drop-down list. For example, if you want to have 3 or 4 slideshow zones on every monitor and you have a lot of portrait-oriented pictures in your slideshow, then you could position them in one row, like this:

But if your photos are mainly landscape-oriented and you want 4 slideshow zones on every monitor, then it's better to have them positioned in 2 rows and 2 columns, like this:

You can add optional space between the slideshow zones and between the screen edges and the slideshow zones in the [ Spacing ] section. A screen background will be visible in this case, so you may want to configure that one too. The above screenshots have 5 pixels of vertical and horizontal space between the slideshow zones and the screen background is set to the solid black color.

Finally, you can set the order slideshow zones transition from one picture to another in the [ Transition order ] section. Endless Slideshow Screensaver offers 3 options:

• transition all zones simultaneously


• transition one zone after another in the order they are positioned on the screen


• transition one zone after another in random order

You can configure the slideshow zone background in the [ Zone background ] section of the [ Slideshow ] tab and choose the number of pictures (which, unlike the number of the slideshow zones, can be random) shown in every slideshow zone in the [ Media files per zone ] section.
